What is intellectual property rights?
The legal rights to which creators of original creative works such as artistic or literary works, inventions, corporate logos and more are entitled

What is a Copyright?
The legal right to sell, publish or distribute and original artistic or literary work; it is held by the creator of a work as soon as it exists in physical form
What is a Digital watermark?
A subtle alteration of digital content that is not noticeable she the work is viewed or played but that identifies the copyright holder.
What is Digital Rights Management (DRM) software?
Software used to protect and manage the rights of creators of digital content, such as art, music, photographs and movies
What is a Trademark?
A word, phrase, symbol or design that identifies goods or services
What is Cybersquatting?
The act of registering a domain name with the intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else
What is the World Intellectual Property Organization? (WIPO)
WIPO is a specialized agency of the UN and attempts to resolve international commercial disputes about intellectual property between private parties. This includes domain names etc.
What s the Anti cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act?
1999 makes it illegal to cybersquat and all allows for penalties up to 100000 dollars for each willful registration of a domain name that infringes on a trademark.
What is a patent?
A form of protection for an invention that can be granted by the government; gives exclusive rights of and invention to its inventor for 20years.
