Get Canada on our side. Didn’t work out
1st battle of bunker hill June 1775
Americans on breeds hill with cannons. Dessimated British but had to leave bc no more ammo. New York City burned (loyalist stronghold)
Ambush on Christmas night 1776
Cross Delaware ambush hessians. Good victory
Saratoga: turning point
Defeated British in open battlefield. French allied with us because we proved ourselves. Gave us supplies. Inspired French insurection
Phase 3 didn’t work out. Why?
Loyalist support in south didn’t want to help British fight. War became unpopular in England
Valley forge Pennsylvania
Marquis de Lafayette and baron Von Steuben
Battle of Yorktown 1781
Cornwallis surrounded. Headed to coast for reinforcements. Didn’t work. Surrendered. Amazing victory
Treaty of Paris 1783
America officially recognized. Mississippi to east coast. Loyalist got land and rights.
