Equipment preflight
All aircrew shall perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections of their equipment.
Required Flight equipment
Protective helmet
Flyer boots
Fire resistant flight gloves

personal survival kit

emergency beacon
flashlight
Anti-exposure suit
Helmets
100% covered in white reflective tape. Up to 30 square inches of light-colored reflective tape
Antiexposure suits
Final determination with regard to weating antiexposure suits shall be made by the CO or OIC based off ORM analysis.
Shall be provided for aircrew when there is a significant risk of water entry and
Water temp 50F or below
OAT is 32F or below based on wind chill corrected temp
Rescue swimmer temp
Rescue swimmers shall not be deployed without anti-exposures protection 60F or below or OAT wind chill corrected is 32F or below.
Liferafts
Liferafts of sufficient capacity to accommodate passengers and crew shall be provided in all aircraft when there is a significant risk of water entry in the event of a mishap.
OTCs may waive this provision during troop missions between see and shore when they deem it appropriate and adequare SAR resources are available.
Waiver decisions will be based on ORM analysis
Unpressurized oxygen usage
The PAC shall use supplemental oxygen continuously when alt exceeds 10,000.
When oxygen is not available to other occupants, flights between 10,000’ and 13,000 feet shall not exceed three hour duration.
Flight above 13000 feet is prohibited.
Flight above 10,000’ in helicopters shall be determined to be mission essential by CO/OIC
Time spent above 10,000’ without supplemental oxygen shall not exceed 1 hour, and altitude shall not exceed 13,000’
Crew Rest
Sailor and crew rest includes free time for meals, transportation, rest and shall include an opportunity for 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep for every 24-hour period.
Does not being until after termination of official duties and is required prior to reporting for duty, to assume watch, and preflight preparations.
Flight crew shall not be scheduled for continuous watch, duty, alert in excess of 18 hours.
If it becomes operationally necessary to exceed the 18-hour rule, 15 hours of continuous off-duty time shall be provided.
Flight Time
Daily flight time should not normally exceed 12 hours. Do not include ground time
Weekly maximum flight time should not exceed 50 hours
DRUGS
Consumption of any type of alcohol is prohibited within 12 hours of any mission brief or flight planning.
Flightcrews shall ensure that they are free of hangover effects prior to flight
Caffeine
MAx intake of 450mg per day (3-4 cups drip coffee) is recommended
Dental Care
The use of local injectable drugs shall be cause for grounding for a period of 12 hours
Immunizations
Flight personnel shall not participate in flight duties for 12 hours after receiving an immunization or injection unless cleared sooner
Blood Donation
Minimum interval 4 months
Shall not donate within 4 weeks prior to operational or shipboard flying
Shall not participate in flight duties for 4 days following donation
Flying within 4 days requires command approval
