Q

What is a keyword?

A

Key words are words that are associated with a particular case and that you should put in front of the translation of the actual word. Doing this will help you understand the function of the case. The key word for the genitive is ‘of’.

Q

What does ‘ablaut’ mean?

A

λογο + ι → λογῷ. “Ablaut” is the technical term for this. By “change their length” I mean that they can shorten (ω → ο), lengthen (ο → ω) as in the dative singular, or disappear entirely.
