Judiciary act of 1789
was a landmark statute adopted on September 24, 1789, in the first session of the First United States Congress.
It established the U.S. federal judiciary.
Bill of rights
the first ten amendments to the US Constitution, ratified in 1791 and guaranteeing such rights as the freedoms of speech, assembly, and worship.
This was the start of the laws and all the rights we have as people.
Hamilton’s “report on the public credit”
reimbursement of government securities (2) federal government would assume state debts
Bank of the United states
This was founded by Alexander Hamilton and it was based from the British.
It was the way that we stopped going more into debt.
Hamilton’s “report on manufactures”
A proposal written by Hamilton promoting protectionism in trade by adding tariffs to imported goods in order to protect American industry Though congress did not do anything with it.
the report later influenced later industrial policies.
Proclamation of neutrality
The Proclamation of Neutrality was a formal announcement issued by President George Washington in May 1793, declaring the nation neutral in the conflict between France and Great Britain.
Whiskey rebellion
involved taxes on whiskey; whiskey was a luxury good that the people tried to argue was a necessity
Jay’s treaty
A treaty which offered little concessions from Britain to the U.S Jay was able to get Britain to say they would evacuate the chain of posts on U.S. soil and pay damages for recent seizures of American ships.
This resulted in a vitalization of the Democratic-Republicans and Pinckney’s Treaty with the Spanish.
Xyz affair
The XYZ Affair was a political and diplomatic episode in 1797 and 1798, early in the administration of John Adams, involving a confrontation between the United States and Republican France.
led to an undeclared war called the Quasi-War.
Naturalization act
provided the first rules to be followed by the United States in the granting of national citizenship.

four bills that the Federalist passed in 1798 in preparation for an anticipated war with France.
Virginia and Kentucky resolution
protest to the Alien and Sedition Acts; Virginia resolution said states had the right to intervene in unconstitutional acts in government; Kentucky resolution stated that federal government could not extend powers outside of constitutionally granted powers
