Question 1

Sed tamen venenum unde fuerit, quem ad modum paratum sit nin dicitur.

But, however, it is not said where the poison came from [or] how it was prepared.

Datum esse aiunt huic P. Licinio, pudenti adulescenti et bono, Caeli familiari;

They agree that (the poison) was given to Publius Licinius, a decent and good young man, a close friend of Caalius;

constitutum esse cum servis, ut venirent ad balneas Senias; eodem Licinium esse venturum atque iis veneni pyxidem traditurum.

that it was decided with the slaves, that they should come to the Senian baths; Licinius was to come to this same place and to hand over the small box of poison to them.

hic primum illud requiro, quid attinuerit fieri in eum locum constitutum, cur illi servi non ad Caelium domum venerint.

At this point, I ask the following thing first, why it was important for them that (the poison) be brought into that appointed place, why those slaves did not go to the house of Caelius.

si manebat tanta illa consuetudo Cadli, tanta familiaritas cum Clodia, quid suspicionis esset si apud Caelium mulieris servus visus esset?

If so great an intimacy with Caelius was still remaining, so great an familiarity with Clodia, wht suspicion would there be if (that) woman’s slave had been seen at the house of Caelius?
