reaction of a juror by either prosecution or defense in which no reason needs to be provided for excusing the juror from jury duty
scientific jury selection
applying scientific method to select jurors who it is believed will render favorable decisions for or against defendants
jury sequestration
the process of isolating a jury from public during a trial, object is to minimize the influence of media publicly and exposure, which could possibly influence juror opinion
evidence driven jury
jury that decides to consider all evidence presented as relevant
verdict driven jury
decides guilt or innocence first without consideration of relevant evidence
Blue Ribbon Juries
juries formed from the best educated and socially placed members of society
jury nullification
refusal of jury to apply the law if they believe it would be a miscarriage of justice
Juror Misconduct
when a juror engages in delinquency or lying to avoid jury services or engaged in prohibited or improper behavior while serving.
