Object continue to exist when they are out of sight

The range of tasks the child cannot do alone but can do with help of a more skilled partner.

Scaffolding
Guidance and support while adjusting the level of support offered to fit the child’s current performance. As the child’s competence increases the adult steps back allowing the child to take more responsibility. This promotes learning at all ages.
Underextension
Applied words too narrowly (bear).
Overextension
Applying word too broadly (car, open)
