are beliefs or ideals that guide interactions with patients, colleagues, other professionals and the public.
What are the 4 nursing values?

2) Autonomy: The role of the professional nurse is to honor and assist individuals and families to make informed decisions about health care and provide information as that they can make informed choices.
3) Commitment to lifelong learning and education: Nurses need continuous education to maintain a safe level of practice and expand their level f competence as professionals.
4) Belief in the dignity and worth of each person epitomizes the caring, professional nurse: Inherent in nursing is respect for human rights, including cultural rights, the right to life and choice, to dignity and to be treated with respect.
Stage 1: unilateral dependence:
reliance on the instructors for the right answers.
Stage 2: Negative/independence:
begins to pull away from external controls. Begin to think critically and question the instructor
Stage 3: dependence/mutuality:
beginning of empathy and commitment to other. Apply knowledge to practice and thinking through problems.
Stage 4: interdependene:
Learning from others and the ability to solve problems independently.
