Q

IETF (TCP/IP) Network levels

A
  1. Network access - describes equipment used for comm and protocols used to comm
  2. Internet - Works with IP and controls packet organization/timing constraints
  3. Transport - Opening connections & maintaining them + ensures correct packets are received
  4. Application - Data passed between programs and transport layer

Q

Package switching

A

Each msg is split into small packs by PAD (Packet assembler/disassembler)

  • Who’s your daddy protocol (packet goes around looking for matching node - reassemble a packet and req a URL)
