Therapeutic Relationship - def
a professional, interpersonal alliance in which the nurse and client join together for a defined period to achieve health-related treatment goals.
Client - def
any individual, family, group or community with an identified health care need requiring nursing intervention.

Professional Boundaries - def

Boundary crossing - def
less serious infractions. They give the appearance of impropriety but do not actually violate anything. These could be outside meetings or discussing things outside of the work environment.
Involvement - def
the degree of the nurse’s attachment and active participation in the client’s care.
What is the orientation phase?
Engagement and assessment. You Gather information, define the problem, identify strengths.
What is the working (implementation) phase?
You determine outcomes, like what needs to happen to reduce the self-care demand? Where does the client want to go? You find out how the client would like to be, etc.
Implementation - explain alternatives and options.
Termination Phase - generalizing and transfer of learning. T/F?
