societal structures that shape our individual experience and our identity, thought our experiences are inherently different from anyone else
structures of identification
unlike biological sex, it involves complex social roles and expectations
gender
a component of one’s identity, also known as socio-economic status. it is related to one’s education, income, family background, and occupation

the rate of deaths in a population over a period of time (usually a year)
mortality
the prevalence and incidence of a disease in a given population
morbidity
ranking in society based on socio-economic status and one’s relative position in a market economy
social gradient
refers to the socially constructed categories that differentiate people based on cultural heritage
race
refers to a male dominated society (referring to a patriarch, the male head of a society)
patriarchal
the relationship between any and all of one’s social identities. posits that one’s social identity is a result of the relationship between all of their various identities, none should be neglected
intersectionality
