the CORE data!!! that is in the entire info system
customer, product, employee, vendor, geographic location, and so on, that span the enterprise’s information systems.
difference between master data and transactional data
master data: core data that spans multiple transactional data points
transactional data: generated/ captured during operationos, this is about TRANSACTIONS (this is the specific products data)
ex: Mary jones purchase one Samsung 42-inch LCD television, part number 1234, from Bill Roberts at Best Buy, for $2,000, on April 20, 2020.
