Formal
+ there is more clarity and precision as it typically follows more guidelines which means it is more precise
+consistency- it helps maintain. Constant message reducing the risk of misunderstandings
+ professionalism- it fosters a professional environment promoting respect and seriousness in intereactions
-slow response time- the structure of it can lead to slow decision making processes and responses as it has to go through many layers for approval
- inflexibility- It can be rigid making it difficult to adapt to changing situations
- can be time consuming

2. Explicit- where there is a set of written rules
