Q

Tricuspid and mitral valves of the heart. Blood enters the right atrium of the heart from the big veins (venae cavae) and passes through the tricuspid valve to the right ventricle. Blood then travels to the lungs, where it looses carbon dioxide (a gaseous waste) and picks up oxygen. Blood returns to the heart into the left atrium and passes through the mitral (bicuspid) valve to the left ventricle. It is then pumped from the left ventricle out of the heart into the largest artery, the aorta, which carries the blood to all parts of the body.
