Q

What are the rules for an inexperienced pilot?

4.0.4

A

On completion of any type conversion training or command training, pilots are considered to be “inexperienced”.
CAUTION:
Inexperienced pilots shall not operate an aircraft together until they have completed 45 days of consolidation line flying.
The period of 45 days of consolidation flying starts from the first rostered line flight after line training and ends on the 45th day thereafter. Pilots are planned to start their consolidation line flying period approximately 5 days after the final line check in order to ensure that the pilot is in possession of his newly endorsed UAE Pilot’s Licence.

Q

What are the rule around a CSA?

4.2.2.1

A

Up to two may be assigned to a flight

The CSAs will be included on the General Declaration as part of the crew, but are not defined as cabin crew.

CSAs do not form part of the minimum crew complement required for departure.

CSAs will stay in the same hotels as the crew and will join them at Emirates Crew Centre (ECC).

CSAs are not SEP trained, and thus are not required to carry a UAE GCAA nor SEP/Medical Licence.

CSAs will occupy an economy class passenger seat when not performing duties.

CSAs report to the Purser and to the designated SFS when the Purser is on rest.

Three economy seats (88HJK) will be blocked for the CSAs and Senior Flight Pursers (if on board).

CSAs are not subject to Flight Time Limitations requirements, however they will, wherever possible, follow the same pattern as cabin crew.

CSA rest will be taken in the assigned seats and/or crew bunks as/when available.

The length of CSA rest will follow the same pattern as cabin crew and will be managed by the operating Purser.
