A

It is INCUMBENT upon the FIRST ARRIVING OFFICER to give the address and /or special name/place of the building as soon as possible, if it has not been identified previously or if the address differs from the original address give on the teleprinter or MDT message

when interconnected buildings have separate house number posted on each…separate CIDS MUST BE ENTERED for each address…

example: 20-40 Pitkin Ave—3 separate buildings each with different address…20, 30, 40 PITKIN AVE…separate CIDS required for 20, 30, 40 with TRANSMITTED DATE PORTION of each CIDS entry indicating the number of buildings in complex…example “3 bldg complex” or 3” interconnected buildings

Non-Fireproof structure renovated or repaired using ANY type of structural LIGHT WEIGHT materials would be CL3LW

WOOD FRAME constructed using ANY type of structural LIGHT-WEIGHT materials would be CL4LW

  • detailed description of construction MATERIAL/techniques would be included in the TRANSMITTED data portion of the CIDS card
  • LW AFTER construction classification should prompt reader to consult the “TRANSMITTED DAta” FOR SPECIFIC INFO.

–if submitting or approving officer deems necessary and space allows, THE DATE building was constructed or altered can also be included within “transmitted data” to provide insight into construction techniques
