What happens in chapter 4?
Around one year later, the scene opens on a maid who, sitting t her window in the early hours of the morning, witnesses a murder take place in the streets below her. When the man, Carew, offers Hyde a greeting, Hyde suddenly turns on him with a stick, beating him to death. The police find a latter addressed to Utterson on the body - Utterson arrives and identifies the body as tat of Sir Danvers Carew. Utterson takes the police to Hyde’s house, as he is the suspected murderer. However, he is not in. They discover that Hyde still has a bank account, so they only need to wait for him to come and draw out money. Yet, there is no sign of Hyde.
