A

agreements to share land in exchange for stuff (healthcare, education, etc)

A

FNs had no choice –were low on resources and would die if they didnt sign

canada govt wanted to sign –build railway and have settlers all around canada

A

first act abt indigenous status and ‘rights’
it offered a choice for FN:
1) be a status indian and get stuff from numbered treaties [cant vote]
2) be canadian citizen but cant practice culture
