What are characteristics of high quality WBS
A
- Review and sign off from top to bottom
- Includes logical flow and is hierarchical in nature
- Clear and concise
- Provide ability to roll up information to higher level
- Receive 100% team buy in (responsibilities assigned successfully to each person of team)
- Should have at least 2 levels (Level 1 defines 100% of the service/product. Level 2 defines the deliverables in terms of work)
- Project management should be define in level 2
- The deliverables in WBS must match the scope or contract.
- All deliverables should be accounted for regardless of responsibility.
- Every WBS elements should be clearly defined.
- The WBS should contain 100% of the work defined by the scope
- Usefulness
- Is “in sync” with the scope statement and project schedule

A
- First 2 or 3 levels by PM and lower level will be by developer
- High level tracking

A
It is defined by PM and team member. Task tied to deliverables, lowest tracking level

What is the difference between CWBS and PWBS
A
In CWBS, contractors may break down structure to whatever level they feel is necessary to manage the program. PWBS is hierarchical in nature where project is decomposed into product-oriented components.
