What is a Lymph?
Is a clear, watery fluid that originates in the tissue space around cells.
What does Lymph contains?
It contains white blood cells (lymphocytes) which help the body fight diseases
What are Lymphatic Vessels?
Lymph enter capillaries within the tissues and the flows into progressive larger vessels as it travels by the action of body muscles to a large vein in the neck, where it enters the bloodstream.
What are Lymphatic ducts?
Large lymphatic vessels eventually join together to form two ducts.
Where does the Right Lymphatic Duct empties?
Into the right subclavian vein.
Where does the Thoracic Duct (largest lymphatic vessel) empties?
Into the left subclavian vein.
What are Lymphocytes?
Are white blood cells that are made in bone marrow and defend the body against foreign substances.
What are Macrophages?
A type of white blood cell that surrounds and kills unwanted microscopic particles, such as bacteria and dead cells.
