When is it not allowed to overtake (pass)?
- When another vehicle is overtaking you
- before or at an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing or bicycle crossing
- When visibility is obstructed (except if there are several lanes in each directions of traffic and you do not need to cross the center line)
- When oncoming traffic is approaching if you need to go in the oncoming traffic lane.
- If the vehicle in front of you is about to make a left turn
- poor visibility
- Right before and at junctions where the priority to the right applies (except 2 wheeled vehicles and vehicles turning left if you overtake from the right)
- Before and at level crossings without gates or lights (except 2 wheeled vehicles)
- Places with the no overtaking sign displayed
When can you overtake on the right?
- cyclist and class II moped can
- Passing roadwork vehicles
- WHen the carriageway has two lanes in the same direction and the speed is lower than 70km/h.
- If the vehicle in front turns to the left
- if the vehicle is driving on a lane leading to another destination
What are the two types of overtake?
- accelerating overtake
- flying overtake (you are already going faster)
What increases the risk of aquaplaning?
- high speed
- wide tires
- poor tread depth (worn out tires)
- large quantities of water
If there is an accident, act in this order
- Survey the accident site: to determine what should be done first.
- Is there a risk of fire? Turn off the ignition of the cars. Attempt to put out the fire if there is an extinguisher on hand.
- Help injured people and warn other road users. (warning triangle and hazard lights)
- Call 112
LBBC?
L: Life threatning situation: move injured people who are in life threatning situation (risk of being run over or drowning)
B: breathing: check that the person is conscious and breathing. Open the airways and check the breathing. If not breathing 112 + CPR.
B: bleeding: Place bleeding body part as high up as possible. Apply a tourniquet.
C: Circulatory shock: confused, pale, clammy, cold, rapid and weak pulse, thirsty feeling. Put person with head low and legs high. Blanket. Do not give food or drink.
If you do an emergency stop when should you use the triangle?
stop in a dangerous place and the speed is over 50km/h, 50-100 meters behind the vehicle.
What large animals collision are you obligated to report to the police?
elk, roe deer, red deer, bear, wolf, lynx, otter, wild boar and eagles.
What trailers can you tow with a B license?
- Weight of not more than 750kg
- If the trailer is more than 750 kg, the total weight of the car and trailer should not be more than 3500kg.
What trailers can you tow with an extended B license?
If the trailer is more than 750 kg, the total weight of the car and trailer should not be more than 4250 kg.
Trailer regulations?
- At the front: two white reflectors, white position lamp if more than 160 cm
- At the rear: triangle shaped reflectors at the rear, break lights, indications, registration plate lamp.
- On the sides: orange marker lights.
- emergency brake.
- trailer larger than your car (ex caravan): must habe wing mirrors added to the car.
- if the car has studded tires, the trailer must have studded tires. But not the other way around.
- make sure noseweight is not too high or too low.
How fast can you drive with a trailer?
No more than 80km/h
If the trailer is unbreaked, if the trailer is more than half the weight of the car, you cannot drive faster than 40 km/h
Towing rules?
30km/h max
If the rope is more than 2 meters long you have to mark it.
Visibility of pedestrian in the dark
With dipped headlights:
- 20-30 meters (dark clothes), 60 meters (bright clothes)
- 125 meters with reflector
With main (high) beams:
- dark clothes 150 m, bright colors 300 m
- 400-450 m with reflectors
