What is the homily?
The homily when the priest explains the readings of the day to us and gives us ways to live out those readings in our daily lives.
Where is the first reading taken from?

What is the responsorial psalm?
A psalm that we sing or say that comes from the book of psalms.
What do the Gospels tell us?
The Gospels tell us about what Jesus said and did while he was on earth.
What is the Profession of Faith or the Creed?
A statement of what all Catholics believe.
Where does the second reading come from?
The Epistles in the New Testament
What are the Prayers of the Faithful?
Prayers for the needs of the Church and the world.
Who is speaking to us when we listen to the Liturgy of the Word?
God
What can we learn from the Old Testament?
We learn the history of creation and of God’s chosen people, the Hebrews.
What does it mean when we make the little crosses on our forehead, lips and heart before the Gospel?
It means that the Word of God is in our thoughts, on our lips (spoken about), and in our hearts.
What are the 4 Gospels?
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
Why do we say the Creed all together?
Because we are making a statement together of what we believe.
