What is Taylor( 1871) concept?
The complex whole includes knowledge, belief, art, law, morals, custom and other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member of society.
What is Haviland(1999) concept?
The ideals, values and beliefs members of a society share to interpret experience and generate behaviour and that are reflected by their behaviour.

What does it mean when a culture is shared?
It is a group of people who have a common homeland, are interdependent and share a common culture.

What does it mean when a culture is learned?
Through enculturation meaning it is the transmission of a society’s culture from one generation to the next.
What is culture is based on symbols?
Symbol: an object that stands for something else. The most important symbolic aspect of culture is language.
What is culture is integrated?
Integration: The tendency for all aspects of a culture to function as an interacted whole.
Popular culture: The culture of our everyday lives that each cultural group enjoys and gives meaning to their lives. (It is the prominent in anthropological inquiry)
Micro cultures: A group of people who share common interests/experiences from which they take their identity.
Culture is not static, and all cultures must change under a variety of factors that are:
-Meeting environment crisis
-Responding to intrusions by outsides
-Evolving internal behaviour and values.
Cultural change may be inefficient or disastrous
Culture, society and individual evolution.
If a society is to survive, it must succeed in balancing the self-interests of its members against the demands of the society as a whole.
