during the late 1940’s and through the early 1960’s, the birth rate(number of live births per 1,000 people) in the U.S. soared

means of communication that reach large audiences. Television was an example

the designing of products to wear out or to become outdated quickly, so that people will feel a need to replace their possessions frequently.
