last name means “man of steel”. took control of the the Soviet Union after V.I. Lenin died.

Who was Francisco Franco?
led a group of Spanish army officers who rebelled against the Spanish republic.
What were the Nuetrality Acts?
-an effor to keep the US out of war
The first two acts outlawed arm sales or loans to nations at war.
The third act was passed in response to fighting in Spain. The act extended the ban on arms sales and loans to nations engaged in civil wars
Who was Neville Chamberlain?
British Prime Minister
Who was Winston Churchill?
Chamberlains political rival in Great Britain.
What was the Nonagression Pact?
a pact between Stalin and Hitler agreeing to never attack eachother.
What was Blitzkreig?
a new military strategy done by using new advances in technology to take enemy by surprise and then quickly crush all opposition with overwhelming force.
What was the Holocaust?
the systematic murder of 6 million Jews across Europe.
What was Genocide?
the deliberate and systematic killing of an entire population. Used by Hitler
What were concentration camps?
labor camps. set up to use it as a warehouse for “undesirables”. Life in camps almost always ended up in death.
What were the Axis Powers?
Germany, Italy and Japan
What was the Tripartite Pact?
a mutual defense treaty between Germany, Italy and Japan(Axis)
What were the Allied Powers?
the nations who fought the axis powers.
