wallenbergs test
test for vertebral artery insufficiency
pt supine
flex neck 10 seconds, extend neck 10 seconds
same with rotation left and right
positive if pt is dizzy or visual change, nystagmus, lightheaded
underbers test
neck backward bent and head fully rotated to either side. if pt develops vascular or neuro symptoms, hvla is contraindicated
apleys scratch: test for abduction and external rotation
have pt reach behing head and touch opp shoulder
apleys scratch eval for internal rotation and adduction
have pt reach in front of head and touch opp shoulder
also reach behind like scratching back
speeds test
assess biceps tendon in bicipital groove
pt fully extend elbow, flex should and supinate forearm
physician resists flexion of shoulder
yergasons test
stability of bicep tendon in groove
physician pulls down on elbow and externally rotates, pt resists

more than 20-25 degrees
