What is Reconstruction?
Rebuilding the former Confederate states and readmitting them to the Union.
Compare Lincoln’s 10 Percent Plan with the Radical Republican plan.
Lincoln’s 10 Percent Plan was forgiving on the south and stated 10% of state voters must pledge loyalty to the Union, the Radical Republicans wanted a harsher readmission.
What was the Freedman’s Bureau?
An agency that helped African Americans make the transition to freedom.

Northerners that moved to the south to find wealth by bringing industry to the region.

Name used by former Confederates to describe some white Southerners that were pro-Union.

Laws that require A-A’s and Whites to be separated in almost every public place in the south.

Legal as long as A-A’s and Whites were treated separately and equally.

African Americans that left the south after the war.
