Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS)
Progressive impairment of the immune system by the human immunodeficiency virus. Diagnosis of age is made on the basis of the presence of one opportunistic infections on a very low CD4 cell count
Cancer disparity
Exist when a disproportionate burden of cancer is carried by some groups in comparison to another
Cancer metastasis
The spread of cancer cells from the place where they first form to another part of the body
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
The virus that is implicated in the development of aids
Osteoarthritis
A form of arthritis, that results from the articular cartilage that begins to crack, or wear away because of overuse of a particular joint may also result from injury or other causes, usually affects the weight-bearing joints in athletes and elderly
Psychoneuroimmunology
The study of the interactions among behavioral Neuroendocrine, and immunological processes of adaptation
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
A crippling form of arthritis believed to result from an auto immune process, usually attacking the small joints of the hands, feet, wrist, knees, ankles and neck
Type 1 diabetes
An autoimmune disorder characterized by lack of insulin production by the beta cells of the pancreas
