The cooperative relationship of colleagues.
coordination of services
Prioritizing, organizing, and delivering the components of the school counseling program such as individual/group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, consultation services, career and academic advising, and systemic support.
coordinator
One who determines the components of the school counseling program and then collaborates with others to fulfill an optimum educational opportunity for students.
management of resources
Extending the school counselor program beyond just the direct services counselors can provide, by bringing in human and material resources such as parents, students, teachers, administrators, community members, business partners, and technology.
needs assessments
A systematic process for determining and addressing needs, or “gaps” between current conditions and desired conditions. The discrepancy between the current condition and wanted condition must be measured to appropriately identify the need.
neighborhood associations
Groups of residents or property owners who advocate for or organize activities within their neighborhoods.
peer facilitators
Students who assist other students in exploring ideas or feelings about a situation, look for alternatives, and make responsible decisions.
Peer mediators
Students who act as peacekeepers and work closely with administration to develop a set of procedures in handling student conflict.
prereferral
The process that helps determine if a student needs special education services.
