Q

Explain how Islam is both a religion and a way of life

A

The Islamic people have been able to combine religion and a way of life through the basic duties included in the five pillars of Islam. The muslims consider the Quran a complete guide to life and final authority in all matters. The islamic system of law, the sharia, has laws that regulate government, family and community, and is based on the Quran. Women are spiritual equals but their rights are limited in worldly affairs. Finally, the arabic language was used for both the Quran and Sharia so that it could help unite the muslims from many regions.
