Q

Explain the Magna Carta and it’s importance.

A

The Magna Carta was an important document signed by King John of England in 1215 that gave more rights to the people.
Rebellious barons forced King John to sign the Magna Carta to limit his power. It gave feudal rights that shaped government traditions in England. It also stated that the King must obey the law and he could not raise taxes without consulting the Great Council of clergy and nobles.
The Magna Carta was a document that helped create other documents such as our own constitution to guarantee right for the people.
