Progressive prolongation of the electrical impulse delay at the AV node, which produces an increase in length of the PR interval
Second degree AV block, Mobitz type 1, or Wenckebach
The most usual form of block, results from excessive conduction delay in the AV node
First degree heart block
A more serious dysrhythmia that occurs when there is an intermittent interruption in the electrical conduction system near or below the AV junction
Second degree AV block, or Mobitz type 2
The most serious type of heart block, the atria and ventricles are completely blocked or separated from each other electrically at or below the AV node, ventricular rate will most commonly be between 20 and 40 BPM
