Q

(Written) What problem lead to the downfall of the Byzantine Empire?

A

It was mainly due to a large outbreak of a virus that greatly resembled what we know today as the black death or the Bubonic plague. At it’s highest, it killed around 10,000 a day. This left the empire vulnerable to numerous invasions from foreign countries, which resulted in a loss of land and eventually captured by the Ottomans (1453).

Q

(Written) How did feudalism during the Middle Ages make an insecure life more secure?

A

Best guess: The people during the time before the feudal system were under constant attack by the Magyars and the Muslims, which caused many to seek protection. When the feudal system arose, it offered protection at the cost of land. In other words, the lord could give away their land in order to have men to protect their homes.
