What are Accommodations?
When the method or physical environment is changed for the student but not the material that is being taught.
What is AYP?
Adequate yearly progress
In which schools, districts states and so on are accountable for meeting student performance standards in math and language arts.
What are Alternate assessments?
An alternative to standardized tests, for students with severe disabilities, usually a portfolio or samples of student work.
What is considered assistive tech?
Any item whether bought, modified or customized that is used to increase maintain or improve the functional capabilities of kids with disabilities.
What is a functional curriculum?
Knowledge and skills for students with disabilities that they need for success and independence (Dressing etc)
What does IEP stand for and who is it for?
Individual education program, For school children of all ages with disabilities
What does an IESP stand for and who is it for?
Individualized Family Service Plan: For infants and toddlers ages birth-3years old.
Manifestation Determination
A review of the relationship between a student’s misconduct and his disability, Used for discipline.
Repeated reading
A technique for reading fluency, Child rereads a passage four or five times. The child reads for a certain amount of time to see how many words can be read correctly before time is up.
SAFMEDS
Say all fast a minute each day: A deck of cards with a question, vocab words, or printed problem, student has 1 minute to get through the cards as quickly as possible
Time delay
The amount of time you wait for a child to give you an answer/response before giving them a prompt.
