What is our purpose about?

A

Fundamentally our job is to keep the public safe

But we also have an important role in reassurance

To ensure people feel safe - whether at

on the roads
Or in public spaces

Delivering the service the public expects and deserves.

Public having the confidence Police will respond quickly when they need us

Our ability to keep people safe and feeling safe is directly linked to the level of trust & confidence the public have in their Police service.

Principles

This act is based on the following principles:

a) principled, effective, and efficient policing services…. Cornerstone of free and democratic society

b) effective policing relies on wide ensure of PUBLIC SUPPORT and CONFIDENCE

c) poling services are provided under a NATIONAL framework / also have LOCAL COMMUNITY focus

d) policing services - provided in a manner that RESPECTS HUMAN RIGHTS

e) Policing services provided INDEPENDENTLY and IMPARTIALLY

f) in providing policing services, every employee is required to ACT PROFESSIONALLY, ETHICALLY and with INTEGRITY
