Why is social justice important
Social justice refers to equal rights and opportunities to all, regardless of sex, class, income, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, etc.
Why is equity important?
Equity relates to fairness and impartiality within the population.
Why is the concept of health and wellbeing subjective?
- As a number of factors affect the way people experience and view health and wellbeing,
- including age, fitness, body weight, social networks, income, occupation, education and culture.
Explain how health and wellbeing can be described as resources?
Health is a resource for everyday life, not the objective of living; it is a positive concept, emphasizing social and personal resources, as well as physical capacities.
Health and wellbeing are important outcomes in their own right, but together they are also a precondition for learning and employment, and an indicator of successful education.
What is health status?
Refers to an “individual’s” or population’s overall health, taking into account various aspects such as:
- life expectancy,
- amount of disability
- and levels of disease risk factors.
