A

担保 (dān bǎo)
To guarantee, usually by taking responsibility for someone else’s obligations, like a legal or financial guarantee.

i.e. 银行要求我为贷款人担保。
(The bank requires me to guarantee the loan for the borrower.)

保证 (bǎo zhèng)
To ensure or promise, often about something within one’s control.

i.e. 请放心,我保证这件事一定处理好。
(Don’t worry, I assure you this matter will be handled well.)

遏制 vs. 控制

A

遏制 (è zhì)
o curb, suppress, or restrain, often in the context of stopping something harmful or negative from spreading or growing.

i.e. 他努力遏制住自己的怒火。
(He worked hard to suppress his anger.)

控制 (kòng zhì)
To control or manage, often with the implication of having direct influence over something.

i.e. 请控制好你自己的情绪。

便捷 (biàn jié)
Convenient and efficient. More formal and often used to describe processes, tools, or services that are specifically designed for speed and ease.

i.e. 这款应用提供了便捷的支付方式。
(This app offers a convenient and efficient payment method.)

方便 (fāng biàn)
Convenient, easy, or handy. More casual and versatile, used in daily life for anything that makes something simpler or easier.

i.e. 这家超市的地理位置很方便。
(The location of this supermarket is very convenient.)

一味 vs. 一直

A

一味 (yī wèi)
Blindly or excessively persisting in doing something, often with a negative connotation.

Implies doing something without considering consequences or alternatives.

i.e. 一味批评孩子只会让他们失去信心。
(Constantly criticizing children will only make them lose confidence.)

一直 (yī zhí)
Always, continuously, or consistently. Neutral, often used to describe a prolonged or uninterrupted action.

i.e. 这家公司一直保持着高质量的服务。
(This company has consistently maintained high-quality service.)
