How are broadsheets different from national newspapers?

A
  • Regarded ideologically as higher class for more intelligent ppl

because they concern themselves w/ serious issues
(Politics rather than celebrities)

  • Aesthetically less colourful than tabloid as they are serious!
  • Smaller writing/ a lot of writing
    to suggest to the reader
    that the article is in depth + will take more effort
    to read than a standard article in a tabloid .
Images- are used 
(smaller than those in tabloids
-less emphasis on them 
-used to expand in the article  
-and add a sense of realism 
  • Sole aim= inform people on current issues
