Communication

The study of morals

Knowing and using a number of different behaviors to achieve appropriate communication
Behavioral flexibility
Behaviors that help communicators achieve their goals
Communication skills
Thoughts communicators have about themselves
Cognitions
The transactional model incorporating three contextual spheres in which individuals communicate
Competent communication model
Observable communication
Behavior
Enables communicators to think about multiple and subtle nuances in the messages of their partners
Cognitive complexity
Communication occurs within the context of a relationship and is influenced by the relational history
Relational context
The circumstances surrounding communication, influence communication
Situational context
Cultural identity, how individuals view themselves as a member of a specific culture, influences communication choices
