Chapter 1- Biology And Behavior Flashcards
1
Q
Posterior pituitary gland
A
comprised of axonal projections from hypothalamus. releases ADH/vasopressin and oxytocin
2
Q
Parts of hypothalamus
A
lateral, ventromedial, anterior
3

(VMH) satiety center. signals brain to stop eating. if damaged you will not know when you’re full (very much hungry)
5
Q
Anterior hypothalamus
A
sexual behavior (asexual), also regulates sleep and body temp
6

Pineal Gland
A
key player in 3 biological rhythms. secretes melatonin which regulates circadian rhythms
