24
Q

Trigger points

A

hypersensitive focus within taut band of skeletal muscle or muscle fascia

painful upon compression with characteristic referred pain, tenderness

spinal cord plays important role in establishing and maintaining trigger points

Tx:
spray and stretch w/ vapocoolant spray
injection with local anesthetic or dry needling
ME
MFR
Ischemic compression
25
Q

Trigger point vs tenderpoints

A

Trigger points refer pain when pressed

tenderpoints DO NOT refer pain when pressed
