Articulatory technique indications
limited or lost articular motion
need to increase frequency or amplitude of motion of body region - chest wall motion in respiratory disease
normalize sympathetic activity
Contraindication of articulatory technique
repeated hyperrotation of upper cervical spine in extension position -> damage vertebral artery
Acutely inflamed joint - infection or fracture
Rib raising
Increases chest wall motion
normalizes sympathetic activity
improve lymphatic return
Supine
contact rib angle with finger pads
apply gentle traction
raise ribs pushing finger tips upwards and lowering forearms (lever action)

5. abduction w/ internal rotation
Adduction w/ external rotation
6. internal rotation behind back
