How did the English gain New Netherland?
England sent warships to take New Netherland over. The settlers did not fight and England took over.

Groups from different places that are put together.

Vermont, New York, New Jersey Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Who was William Penn?
He was the owner of 2 colonies (Pennsylvania and Delaware).
What was the Great Awakening?
A religious movement that renewed many people’s interest in religion.
What is an apprentice?
Someone who learns a trade from a master artisan.
What crops grew well in the Middle Colonies?
Wheat, corn and rye.
Why were the Middle Colonies called the Breadbasket colonies?
Because the main crops were used in making bread.
What freedoms did William Penn want for the citizens of PA?
Freedom of speech and religion.
