Motion
A change in an object’s position relative to a reference point.
A position of an object that has been switched that is due to a reference point.
Ex. Jumping, Walking, Running
Reference Point
Helps you determine how far an objected has moved.
Show how far or near an object has moved.
Ex. The boy moved 4ft from the mail box.
Speed
Distance an object travels per unit of time.
The objects distance that it has traveled which is unit of time.

Position
A place where something is located or has been put.
Where an objected has been placed or is located.
Ex. Location dot on Google Maps
Coordinate Systems
A system that uses numbers to uniquely determine the position of a point.
A system that uniquely uses numbers to organize and figure out the position of a point.
Ex. X-axis Y-axis
Displacement
Distance and direction of an object’s change in position from the starting point.
From the starting point it shows the object’s change in distance and direction.
Ex. Same=Add Diff.= Subtract
