What are the 5 steps of interpreting?

Interpreting process step 1 expansion
intake of the source language utterance while maintain awareness of environmental factors
Interpreting process step 2 expansion
grouping lexical and semantic parts into workable units and holding them in the forefront until there is enough input to make sense
Interpreting process step 3 expansion
identify the speaker’s intent and goal (including explicit and implied ideas) while assessing all contextual factors before and during interpreting
Interpreting process step 4 expansion
the conscious and deliberate discarding of source language lexical units and communication behaviors to mediate better language equivalency (purposeful omissions)
Interpreting process step 5 expansion
identify the schema and experimental frame of participants, making a search for cultural equivalents where necessary while producing the message in the target prosody
