(1) Take Off - checks

Takeoff
1. Take-Off Check
1. PCL – slowly to full blower
1. Slight Right rudder to keep straight
1. Good Torque, Airspeed alive
1. 80 kts - Rotate
Post Takeoff
1. Good engine, good climb
1. 5-7 degrees nose up – tip of antennas on horizon
1. Gear - up
1. 110kts - flaps up
1. Trim
1. Track RWY Heading (Ball centered)
1. PTO Check
1. End of Rwy – XXXX ft, restriction meet (≤2500ft)
1. Climb Attitude– 180kts & Re-Trim
1. 3500ft – Turn & UHF M3
(2) VFR Departure

1. Walrus - wait east end of lake, then turn towards it
2. Sable or Eagle – 30° outbound from downwind
8000ft
1. Radios UHF 14 – VHF 4
2. Watchdog Air Picture Call a. Watchdog, Bandit XX, Picture, Walrus/Sable/Eagle, Low/Mid/High
3. **Walrus **– Turn & align with the SW section lines
4. Sable – Turn south
5. **Eagle **– Turn & align with the NE section lines

1. 10000 ft check (OBOGS, CKPT Alt, ∆p)
2. Walrus – Turn middle of the Area (NW corner of the Lake)
3. Sable – Turn middle of the Area (sling shoot bend)
4. Eagle – Intercept train tracks, middle of the area (lake East of train tracks)
Level Off
1. Alt Check - 10% VSI start level off
2. Attitude – Set & Trim
3. 5 kts before – Power set & Re-Trim
Level Flight – Formula: (Airspeed – 90)/2 = %tr

Leaving the Area
1) Take me home
a) SA check – Alt, Hdg, DME.
2) ATIS (UHF 20) and Altimeter (set twice in the front)
3) Turn to exit the area
a) Walrus – Track north shore HDG E => 10 miles lake
b) Sable – Head north => 10 miles lake
c) Eagle – Train tracks => 10 miles lake (Colony restriction/circle around)
4) Call tower for type of approach UHF 3a) Tower, Bandit XX with information X, XX miles out South, straight in
5) Start Descent - Pre-Decent Check
6) leaving Area, make traffic call VHF 17/18/19a) Bandit XX, leaving Sable mid, 12000 ft
7) Switch to VHF 16 OPS calla) Ops, Bandit XX, RTB
8) Each pattern will take approx. 40 lbs and each closed pattern will take approx. 15 lbs.
9) Clearing turns
10) Over lake 3000ft, Hdg 022°
a) Pwr => 25 % & ↘ to 2700ft

Downwind
1) Abeam beginning of Rwy -Circuit check
2) Lookout – Crosswind Killers
3) Abeam end of runway - 20T ↘2700ft MSL
4) 2700ft MSL – Maintain altitude => reduce airspeed
5) Rocket tress – turn base 45°AOB
a) Decelerate to ≈ 160kts before turn
Base Leg
1) x < 147 kts – Configure
a) Gear…Gear Down, Flaps T/O, PCL 35% Tr
2) Pre-Landing Check
3) Trim - 120 kts, 35% torque
4) End of runways align – 45°AOB, 45-degree leg
5) Radio Calla) Bandit XX, Left/Right Base, Straight-In
6) ~4DME, 30-45 AOB roll onto runway centreline
Approach
1) Crab into wind as required
2) (~3.4 -3.3 DME) – 25%, Nose Down ↓
a) Fine-Trim
3) Lookout - PFL and Overhead Brakes AC’s
4) Finale check – 3 green, 120kts, right Alt, 25% Trq
5) Final Calla) Bandit XX, Final, Three Green, Go/Stop/etc., Left/Right
6) Window - 2200ft MSL, over farm
a) Flaps - Land
b) PCL - 20% T
c) Correct for the balloon
7) Airspeed – Aim point (cycle)
Normal Landing
1) Above threshold – 100kts, PCL idle
2) Flight control– Checked
3) Look – End of Rwy
4) Round out - 10-15 ft above runway
5) Hold A/C - Landing at approx. 80-90 kts
6) Touch Down – Hold off nose
7) 80 kts - Test brakes
8) Use aft stick pressure to stop nose-wheel shimmy
(6) Touch and Go
Takeoff
1) PCL – slowly to full blower
a) Slight Right rudder to keep straight
