CH - Area basic maneuvers (Turns & company) Flashcards
Straight & level
1) Look – to the horizon
2) Attitude – Wx tip, Wx tip, Nose, pitch and Bank
3) PCL – Tr adjust
4) Trim – Ball, Pitch, Bank
5) Crosscheck – Attitude, airspeed, Altitude
6) Correct – coordinated corrections
7) Lookout – for traffic
Airspeed Changes
1) 1% Tr = 2 KIAS
2) ∆s ≤ 20 kts – Set desired %Tr
3) ∆s ≥ 20 kts – PCL Max, set %Tr at 5 kts before
4) ∆s ≤ 20 kts, Two techniques:
a) PCL desired T setting and speed brake until within 5 kts
b) PCL idle until within 10 kts
A - Gliding
- 4-6% Torque
- Attitude – Hold & Trim for 125 kts
- 125kts - N↓ Down, Re-trim for 125kts
B- Moderate Descent
- Descent - 30Tr, 5° N↓ Down
a. Speed brake not normally used - Speed Range– 200-250 kts
- VSI - 2000 – 4000 fmp
- Trim & clearing turns
C - Rapid Descents
- Belly Check – Cleared => PCL idle
- Dive – 4-6Tr, 10° N↓ Down
- Speed Range – 250Kts +, Max 300kts
a. Board out – As req’d - VSI 8000 - 15000 fpm (Vne = 316Kts)
- Retrim & clearing turns
