Intentional news leak for the purpose of assessing the public reaction
Trial balloons
Short video clips of approx 10 sec; typically, theyre all that is shown from a politicians speech on the nightly television news
Sound bites
Shot of a persons face talking directly to the camera. B/c this is visually unappealing,the major commercial networks rarely show a politician talking one on one for very long
Talking head
Issues that attract the serious attention of public officials & other ppl actively invilved in politics at the time
Policy agenda
Ppl who invest their political “capital” in an issue. Accoeding to john kingdom, a policy entrepreneur “could be in or out of govt, in elected or appointed positions, in interest groups or research organizations.”
