Oliguria

Urination, particularly excessive, at night

presence of blood in urine
Retention
accumulation of urine in bladder, with inability of bladder to empty.
Residual urine
volume of urine remaining in bladder after voiding (volumes of 100 mL or more)
Proteinuria
protein in the urine (sign of glomerular injury)
Intermittent catheterization
- For immediate relief of acute bladder distention
- Long-term management;pt w/ incompetent bladder
- To prevent urethral obstruction from blood clots
- To assess for residual urine after voiding
- To instill medication
Indwelling catheterization
- obstruction to urine outflow
- pts undergoing surgical procedures involving the urinary tract or surrounding structures.
- To prevent urethral obstruction from blood clots
- To accurately record output in critically ill or comatose patients.
- To provide continuous or intermittent bladder irrigations
